The Economics of an Ageing Population
The House of Lords has started an enquiry into this matter. Both COPAS (on 1 March 2003) (click here) and the Association of Royal Ordnance Pensioners (on 27 February 2003) (click here) have responded to the questions posed.

SELECT COMMITTEE LAUNCHES YET ANOTHER INQUIRY INTO THE FUTURE OF UK PENSIONS

Prompted by the growing public concern about the issue of pensions, and in the light of the recent Sandler and Pickering Reviews, the House of Commons Select Committee on Work and Pensions has launched a wide-ranging inquiry to examine the role and policy of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) in encouraging increased saving for retirement.

Because the review is independent, OPRA, the subject of the review, can submit to the reviewers, as well as relaying other submissions. You can read their input here, and can form your own opinion about any COPAS influence. We will provide a link to the output of the review, when that is available.
